Africa is growing steadily, we are keen to grow
our Facebook page to get interesting news and resources

Household
Food Security Programme Launched in the
Eastern Cape
On 16 November the
Household Food Security Programme was launched
in the Eastern Cape. It is an accredited
NQF level 5 training programme and is the
result of a collaborative partnership between
the South African Institute for Distance
Education (Saide) and the Unisa College
of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences
(UCAES) and was funded by the WK Kellogg
Foundation. Alice Barlow-Zambodla provides

The
SADC- Supporting Distance Learners (SDL)
Workshop
In November 2010 Saide
facilitated a workshop on supporting online
learning. This course was run at the request
of the SADC Centre for Distance Education
(CDE) in Gaborone and was attended by ten
participants from the Botswana College of
Open and Distance Learning (BOCODOL) and
the Namibian College of Open Learning (NAMCOL).

AgShare
Open Educational Resources (OER) Collaboration
AgShare is an 18-month
planning and piloting project in which Michigan
State University (MSU) and Saide's OER Africa
Initiative are working with a range of African
anchor partners to build the foundation
of the AgShare Open Educational Resources
(OER) collaboration. Brenda Mallinson provides
more detail on the project and reports on
some of the initial engagements with Haramaya
University.
