As COVID-19 continues to interrupt literacy and learning globally, intervening literacy organisations are becoming more innovative, flexible and learning to adjust their programmes.

Those who have no early reading resources in familiar languages and familiar content which reflect their contexts to help them relate to reading; those who are economically disadvantaged and cannot purchase storybooks of their choice or afford a digital device; and those who attend under-resourced schools, are all vulnerable and must be the focus of literacy interventions.

This International Literacy Day we acknowledge all efforts to narrow the divide and offer up our storybooks and apps with stories in 222 languages as a solution! We need you to spread the word and read for your little ones today!

Visit the African Storybook website and download our apps, share with those near and far!
