Investing in educators, investing in Africa’s future.
Empowering Teachers
The Regional Teachers Initiative for Africa (RTIA) aims to support African countries to improve the education and training of teachers and to make sure that their schools have enough qualified teachers. Saide is managing a consortium of four institutions to establish Professional Learning Communities in Botswana, Ghana, Kenya and South Africa.
Each of the project countries has a focus on student learning, to collaboratively design, observe, and refine lessons focused on improving student engagement and achievement in Mathematics, Sustainability Education, and early reading.
The project started in May 2025 and will run until November 2026, when the findings will be disseminated so that the evidence produced can inform policy formulation, program design and implementation in Sub-Saharan Africa.
